CERCLE FRANCAIS PRODUCES PLAY

"Le Chateau Historique" in Jordan Hall December 10 and 11.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Cercle Francais has decided upon a play called "Le Chateau Historique," by Alexander Bisson and G. Berr de Turique for its twenty-seventh annual play. It will be presented in Jordan Hall on Wednesday and Thursday, December 10 and 11, at 8 o'clock. Tickets at $1.50 may be obtained from C.W. Cheney '15 at Randolph 26 or at Herrick's. Balcony seats at 75 and 50 cents are on sale at the Co-operative Branch and at the Schoenhof Book Company, 128A Tremont street, Boston.

"Le Chateau Historique" is a comedy in three acts. Marguerite Baudoin, the heroine, after reading some novels by Paul Carat, discovers a strong attraction to him. She writes his publishers for a portrait of him, which arrives while her husband's best friend, Caude Barrois, is showing him some pictures of a trip. The husband exchanges it for one or Barrois and introduces the latter as Coudray in order to depreciate his character. His success is interrupted by the arrival of Marguerite's brother, Ludovic, who knows Coudray well. Marguerite shows him the picture and he discovers the trick. He, however, himself resembles the author, so they decide to get even by introducing him as the real Coudray. This furnishes an opportunity for several dramatic situations before the tangle is straightened out.
