Professor Theobald Smith of Harvard University is the representative of the United States selected as a member of the international committee to award the first of the Emil Chr. Hansen prizes for research in medical micro-biology. The other two members of the committee are Professor Gaffky of Berlin, Germany, and Professor Calmette of Lille, France.
