The object of the summer military camps for students which were begun by the Government last year is not unlike the plan for college undergraduates to take training-ship cruises that was suddenly abandoned when it had every prospect of success. But the military camps have passed through one successful season, and President Lowell is today in New York to discuss prospects for the coming summer. The active, healthful, outdoor life can not fail to be of benefit; but, further than this, there is the discipline of the military training, valuable in peace as well as in the event of war. Considered as a profitable way of spending the long vacation, for those who are still undecided, the idea is at least worth serious consideration.
