Play in the University singles championship has reached the final round. Today's play in doubles will determine the finalists and the championship will probably be played off Tuesday or Wednesday of next week.
The results of yesterday's matches in singles were as follows:
J. J. Armstrong '14, defeated E. H. Woods '14, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0, 8-6; R. N: Williams '16 defeated J. C. Devereux '14, 6-2, 6-2, 6-2.
The following matches in doubles are to be played this afternoon. Matches must be the best three out of five sets. Balls will be supplied on the field.
On Jarvis Field at 2 o'clock: E. R. Hastings '14 and J. C. Devereux '14 vs. H. A. Lawton 1L. and J. S. Pfaffmann '16, E. H. Whitney '14 and R. N. Williams, Jr., '16 vs. F. B. Beal 2G. and H. T. Moore 3G.
All Seniors who wish to try for the class tennis team should hand in their names to E. H. Whitney '14, Hollis 3, sometime today. The first practice will be held on Jarvis Field Tuesday at 2.30.
