DEMOLITION OF GORE HALL

Work Begun Yesterday.--Expected to be Completed and Ready for Construction by March 1.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The work of demolishing Gore Hall will be finished about. March 1, according to present arrangements. The contract for the work has been awarded by the George F. Payne Co., Philadelphia, to Elston and Swift of Boston, and calls for a completion of the work within 48 days. This includes the complete destruction of the building, and clearing of the ground.

All of the floors have now been taken up, the iron stacks being the next portion to be removed. This latter operation should not occupy over three days, and upon its completion work on the exterior will progress rapidly.

Since the work is necessarily of an uncertain character, it is impossible to state exactly when it will be finished, and the excavating begun.
