AMHERST'S STRONG NINE WILL PLAY ON SOLDIERS FIELD AT 3 O'CLOCK.

Harvard will meet a strong baseball team this afternoon in Amherst, the game taking place on Soldiers Field at 3.00 o'clock. The Purple has not lost a game this year with Vernon in the box. Wesleyan was defeated 7 to 0 and Columbia 10 to 8. Catholic University defeated Amherst 5 to 0, however, and this team Harvard defeated 15 to 2. Burt, Partenhermer, Vernon and Strahan on the Amherst team are all veterans. Last year Vernon was knocked out of the box in the seventh inning by the University team and Harvard won 9 to 2. The year previous the University team was victorious 6 to 1. The batting orders will be as follows: HARVARD.  AMHERST.
