Hon. Francis Joseph Swayze '79, Justice of the Supreme Court of New Jersey and member of the Board of Overseers of the University, will deliver a public lecture on "The Fourteenth Amendment and the Limitation of the Right to Regulate Public Service Corporations," in Emerson D, this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock. A lecture continuing the subject will be given in Emerson D tomorrow at 3.30 o'clock.
The Fourteenth Amendment of the Constitution prohibits states from taking "life, liberty, or property without due process." Judge Swayze will discuss how this affects the legislation of states in regulating the railway rates and other corporate service.
