Garber Privately Tells Faculty That Harvard Must Rethink Messaging After GOP Victory
A fast and heavy football team from the battleship Nebraska defeated the University second team yesterday by a score of 13 to 7 in a rather ragged game. The navy eleven, whose line averaged 200 pounds from tackle to tackle, was able to gain through the second's defence practically at will. In addition it used the forward pass to great advantage, working it successfully for long gains six times out of seven. There was frequent fumbling on both sides.
Harvard's points were made in the third period. By bucks and a beautiful succession of forward passes, the Nebraska team had reached their opponents' 10-yard line. Here they tried a fake place-kick, which was to have been a forward pass; but McCall intercepted it and ran the length of the field for a touchdown, kicking the goal afterwards.
The line-ups were as follows: Score--Nebraska, 13; Second team, 7. Touchdowns--Thompson, 2; McCall. Goals from touchdowns--Brown, McCall. Referee--Burleigh, of Exeter. Umpire--Tufts, of Brown. Head linesman--J. L. Handy '14. Time--10-minute periods.
