The Menorah Society has arranged for a series of six lectures to be given during the current year. Professor Israel Friedlander, of the New York Theological Seminary, will deliver the first three lectures this half-year. Professor Friedlander has taken degrees at Berlin and Strassburg and has taught at several theological schools. His books on Hebrew and oriental literature are authoritative and he is also well known as a contributor to American and foreign reviews and magazines. The subject of his first lecture on November 18, will be "The National Element in Judaism." The two other lectures given by him will be on "The Religious Element in Judaism", and "The Future of Judaism in America."
The lectures of the second half-year will be delivered by Professor M. Kaplan, holding the chair of Homiletics and Pedagogy at the New York Theological Seminary. The subjects of his lectures have not yet been announced. The course is made possible through the gift of $250 by a friend of the society. The lectures will be open to the University.
