The regular afternoon class in general gymnastics commenced last Tuesday with the large enrollment of over 75. All members of the University are admitted to the class, which meets in the Gymnasium every week-day with the exception of Saturday, at 5 o'clock. The class is under the direction of Dr. Carl Schrader, the coach of the gymnastic team. The work lasts for one hour, the first half being given over to general exercises with bumb-bells and calisthenic rods; during the remaining period the piano is used as an accompaniment to folk dancing and other simple forms of exercise, the plan being that which was found very successful during the latter part of the previous winter. The class is intended to give those men who are unable to take part in the more violent forms of exercise an opportunity to secure daily exercise throughout the winter. Regular attendance is not expected.
