Optional Papers for Commencement

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Every candidate for a degree with distinction in Harvard College or for a degree in any graduate department of the University is invited to write a paper suitable for delivery at Commencement. The writing of this paper is entirely optional and does not take the place of any work for a degree. Each writer will select his own subject and will treat it in his own way.

No paper offered by a candidate for the degree of A.B. or S.B. should require more than ten minutes for delivery; no paper offered by a candidate for a higher degree should require more than fifteen. Papers may be left at University 10 on or before May 1. From among those presented, several,--if of sufficient excellence,--will be selected for delivery.
