The second edition of the "Descriptive and Historical Notes on the Library of Harvard University", recently issued, shows that within the last few years, the collections which make up the University Library have greatly increased. Gore Hall now contains over 564,000 books and nearly 400,000 pamphlets, making a growth since 1903 of 160,000 volumes, or 40 per cent. The whole University Library now has the large total of over 980,000 volumes and 600,000 pamphlets, or a grand total of nearly 1,590,000.
