The Freshman team which represented Harvard Saturday morning at Princeton turned out to be decidedly a one-man eleven. Had it not been for four field-goals by Brickley, netting a total of 12 points for Harvard, combined with the Freshman captain's excellent defensive and offensive work, it is very doubtful if Harvard would have come off the victor. At the end of the game Harvard had a credit of 12 points to none for Princeton.
The first score came early in the first period after a considerable wait owing to a serious injury to Frothingham. In the first play he was hit in the nose and rendered unconscious. It was feared that his nose had been broken. Hardwick went in at right halfback and play proceeded. An onside kick gave the ball to Princeton on its 3-yard line, whence it was punted out to the 36-yard line. A fair catch gave Brickley an opportunity for a place-kick, though at a very difficult angle. The ball went straight and true, being the best kick seen at Princeton this year.
Princeton kicked off to Brickley on the 15-yard line and he ran it in almost to mid-field. Punts were exchanged until Harvard recovered a fumbled kick on Princeton's 40-yard line. Brickley missed the drop-kick and it was Princeton's ball on its 25-yard line. Harvard recovered an onside kick on Princeton's 40-yard and a 25-yard run by Brickley put the ball on the 15-yard line. Brickley made a drop-kick from an easy angle. Before the game ended Brickley netted two more drop-kicks from difficult angles. The summary follows: Score--Harvard 1915, 12; Princeton 1915, 0.
