The University hockey team had its last scrimmage before the Princeton game at the Arena last night against the Boston Hockey Club was greatly handicapped by the absence of Townsend, who was injured in the game with Providence last Wednesday.
All four goals for the University team were scored by excellent team-play on the part the forwards. Pierce, who is being tried out at left wing, fits in well with the combinations but is not accurate on long shots.
In the latter part of the period substitutions were made in the forward line of Leslie, Childs, and Pratt. Gardner also replaced Chadwick at goal.
Huntington and Foster of the defence have improved in getting the puck out of the corners, but still fail to play consistently together, and seem unable to body check as well as they should at this season.
The line-ups were as follows: Change in Rules for Hockey Insignia. Contrary to the custom of previous years, the University hockey, insignia will only be given to those players who play in the games with Princeton and Yale. In past years this insignia has been awarded to those who played in any game in the intercollegiate series.
