The semi-finals in the tennis singles for the championship of the state were played Saturday afternoon. In the last match of the fourth round played in the morning, A. Sweetser '11 was defeated by S. L. Beals, 3-6, 6-1, 6-4. The result of the semi-finals were as follows: H. Johnson defeated H. Nickerson '11, 6-3, 6-1; N. W. Niles '09 defeated S. L. Beals, 6-0, 6-1.
The final round is scheduled for this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The challenge match between the winner of the tournament and R. C. Seaver, the present holder of the championship, will be held at Longwood Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock.
