In the matches for the state tennis championship in singles yesterday at Longwood four out of the six remaining Harvard men won. The rest of the third round and the fourth round will be played on the Longwood courts this afternoon at 3.30 o'clock. The results of yesterday's matches in which members of the University were entered are as follows: N. W. Niles '09 defeated L. T. Wallis, 6-0, 6-2; A. Sweetser '11 defeated J. Wheelwright '10, 2-6, 7-5, 6-1; A. S. Dabney '10, defeated A. Codman, 6-2, 7-5; H. Nickerson '11 defeated E. V. Page, 7-5, 8-6; W. W. Gallagher defeated E. T. Dana 1G., 2-6, 6-3, 6-2.
