FORWARD PASS PRACTICED

In Football Work Yesterday Under Supervision of Coach Haughton.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Coach Haughton took charge of the football work on Soldiers Field yesterday afternoon. There was no dummy practice, the whole time being devoted to work on the new rules, the forward pass being the first rule to be studied. After Coach Haughton had explained this rule and given the backs their positions, he had the men devise their own plays and work them out. Special attention was paid to the forward pass going directly over the centre of the line. Both teams were given a chance to advance the ball and simple plays were used.
