The first 16-pound hammer-throw competition of the season was held on Soldiers Field, Saturday afternoon. R. B. Batchelder '13, handicap 5 feet, won first place with an actual throw of 119 feet, 2 in.; B. D. Hodges '11, scratch, was second with a throw of 121 ft., 4 in; and O. M. Chadwick '11, scratch, with a throw of 121 ft., 1 in., was third.
