Intercollegiate Debate Trials at 7.30

The first trials for the triangular debate with Yale and Princeton, to be held March 21, on "Resolved, That the federal government should have power to impose an income tax not apportioned among the states according to population," will be held in Harvard 5 this evening at 7.30. At these trials each competitor will present a five-minute speech on either side of the question. About 20 candidates will be retained. Men wishing to speak should leave their names with L. A. Mahoney '13, Walter Hastings 12, before noon today. The list of speakers will be posted by 3 o'clock in Gore Hall. Those who have not signed by that time can also talk, after the regular speeches are over. Books on the subject of the debate are reserved in the Library.

The judges this evening will be S. Curtis '05, A. H. Elder '07, R. W. Kelso '04, E. R. Lewis '08, and A. P. Stone '93.
