In spite of having lost to Princeton, the intercollegiate champions, by the score of 2 to 1, and to Cornell, 3 to 1, Yale defeated Massachusetts Institute of Technology, 3 to 0. Columbia was beaten by Princeton early in the season and on January 12 by the University team, 6 to 0.
