The three hundred and third anniversary of the birth of John Harvard, which historians have placed on November 29, 1607, will be marked by a short address in Appleton Chapel this morning at the time of the usual morning prayers. Rev. Francis J. McConnell, D.D., LL.D., president of De Pauw University, Greencastle, Indiana, who will conduct the service, will speak on "The Immortality of Good Works. Last year the anniversary was commemorated in this way, and the 300th anniversary in 1907 was made the occasion of a great undergraduate celebration. It is planned to mark the birthday henceforth by a brief address similar to the one given today.
