Harvard-Princeton Freshman Game

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Harvard and Princeton Freshman football teams will play their second annual game in the Stadium next Saturday afternoon. This game furnishes an unusual opportunity for the Harvard Freshmen to support their team, as it is the first Freshman game in years played in the Stadium on a Saturday when the University team is away.

Last year candidates for managerships collected subscriptions for the support of the various Freshman teams; the total of such subscriptions was $2,412. This policy has long been considered an evil, because of the hardships it has imposed on the many men who cannot afford to give, but who wished to support their class team.

This year the subscriptions have been abolished, and some provision must be made to cover this amount. Therefore, it is proposed to make a charge of $1 for all persons attending the game, and that neither the H. A. A. nor season tickets shall admit. Those entitled to special privileges are urged, in this case, to do their share to make this game a success from a financial standpoint. The deficit in Freshman sports last year, even with the subscriptions of $2,400, was $4,073.60. Under the agreement, half the net receipts go to the Princeton freshmen.
