The Freshman football team defeated Groton at Groton on Saturday, by the score of 8 to 2. The game was played in a pouring rain which increased the difficulty of handling the ball. Neither side attempted to use the forward pass.

Groton twice held the Freshmen for downs inside the 5-yard line. The touchdown by the Freshmen was made in the third period. Grant carried the ball over the line, and Gardiner kicked the goal. Groton scored a safety in the first period, and the Freshmen made one in the last. Hardwick's punting and the work of Reynolds and Grant were the features of the game.

The teams lined up as follows: HARVARD 1914  GROTON.
