A total of 70 Harvard entries had been received last night for the South Boston Athletic Club's track meet, which is to be held in Mechanics Hall on January 22. The meet, besides being the first large one of the season, will be one of the important meets of the year. Any members of the University who wish to enter and have not yet done so, may do so by applying to L. M. Little '10, Randolph 54.
There will be seven events in which Harvard men will take part, namely: a relay race with the Boston Athletic Association, each man to run 390 yards, 40-yard dash, 600-yard run, one-mile run, shot-put, high-jump, and half-mile run. The half-mile run is open only to Harvard men, and it will be the first of a series of such runs for a cup given by H. Watson '10. Cups will be awarded to the winners of first, second, and third place in each event, and medals will be awarded the members of the winning relay teams.
Very desirable seats for the meet are now on sale at the Athletic Office for $1 each.
