FOOTBALL PRACTICE BEGUN

Spring football practice began yesterday afternoon on Soldiers Field, 54 men reporting. This is nine more than reported last spring, yet is not as many as should be practicing daily. All intending to be candidates for the football team next fall should come out unless they are on the first or second University or Freshman squads in baseball, track, or crew.

The practice yesterday was light, consisting in starting and passing. Coach P. D. Haughton '99, H. E. Kersburg '07, F. H. Burr '09, and several of the Senior class members of last fall's team were on the field. This afternoon everyone is expected to report early in order to be fitted to shoulder pads, which will be needed during the practice.
