First Secret Practice at New Haven

New Haven, Conn., November 1, 1909.--The Yale football team held its first secret practice of the year this afternoon. Except for the fact that a scrimmage was held against the second team, nothing was reported.

In the short scrimmage that took place after the gates were opened, many substitutes were used, and although the university team gained about 70 yards, no score was made.

The team lined up in the open scrimmage as follows: l.e., Kilpatrick; l.t., Chandler; l.g., Tomlinson; c., Cooney; r.g., Goebel; r.t., Spencer; r.e., Logan; q.b., Johnson; l.h.b., Smith; r.h.b., Francis; f.b., Savage, Deming.
