NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

After attending the inaugural ceremonies by which Ernest Fox Nichols was officially installed as president of Dartmouth College, yesterday, President Lowell returned to Cambridge late last evening. Of the seventeen honorary degrees conferred, two came to the delegates from the University. Upon both President Lowell and President Emeritus Eliot was conferred the honorary degree of Doctor of Laws.

In the inauguration at Dartmouth, traditional forms were closely followed, as at the installation of President Lowell. After the official ceremonies of the morning, a student reception was tendered President Nichols in the afternoon, and in the evening President Nichols entertained the delegates and guests of the faculty at dinner. On this occasion informal speeches were made by President Lowell and President Emeritus Eliot.
