The first annual dinner of the Harvard Club of Boston will be held at the Hotel Somerset this evening at 7 o'clock. President Eliot will be the guest of honor, and Major Henry L. Higginson '55 will preside. It is expected that about 500 men will be present, including members and invited guests.
The speakers will be President Eliot, Professor Lowell, Governor Draper, Bishop Lawrence '71, and President Faunce of Brown University. Secretary Root will probably be unable to attend, on account of a sprained knee.
