Law School Portrait Collection

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Law School's collection of portraits of famous lawyers and judges has recently been increased by about one hundred pictures, which have been purchased at an auction in Philadelphia of the late Chief Justice Mitchell's collection. Most of them are portraits of English jurists of the last four centuries, including those of Wolsey and other Lord Chancellors. This new addition brings the total number of pictures in the collection up to about five hundred and makes it probably the best of its kind in the world. Most of it is in the old Law School Building, but part is to be hung in Langdell Hall.
