INDIVIDUAL WORK FOR TEAM

Fast Scrimmage Against Second.--Dunlap Tried Out at Left Guard.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In the secret practice yesterday afternoon the University football team was given a long drill in individual work, and a short scrimmage was played with the second team. In the preliminary work Coach Graves drilled the tackles and guards, and Coach Campbell worked with the ends. The backs practiced passes and kicking. Afterwards the first eleven and the substitutes lined up and ran through formations.

The scrimmage with the second team was fast, but no attempt was made to play a regular game. The ball was given first to one team and then to the other, no account being made of the downs. Browne played in the backfield on the defence; and Corbett took his place in the line. Leslie was then put in, and Corbett went in for Long at end on the second team. In this position he showed up well, blocking one of Galatti's punts and breaking up several other plays. The work of the University team was full of life, and the backfield showed improvement in handling kicks. Dunlap was in at left guard and Withington went back to tackle. The second team played a good, hard game, Minot and Page doing particularly well.

The teams lined up in the scrimmage as follows: FIRST TEAM.  SECOND TEAM. Browne, Brown, l.e.  r.e., Rogers McKay, Withington, l.t.  r.t., Bush Dunlap, l.g.  r.g., Harrison Nourse, Hadden, c.  c., Dore Hoar, r.g.  l.g., Blodgett Fish, r.t.  l.t., Beaman Crowley, r.e.  l.e., Long Cutler, Galatti, q.b.  q.b., Crocker Corbett, Leslie, l.h.b.  r.h.b., Burrage White, Long, r.h.b.  l.h.b., Page Kennard, Ver Wiebe, f.b.  f.b., Minot
