The Seniors defeated the Juniors last night by a score of 16 to 14 in the first game of the interclass basketball series. From start to finish the game was close and exciting, the score at the end of the first half being 9 to 9. Neither team had at any stage of the game a decided advantage. Both teams showed lack of practice in their team play, but at times the individual work was good. Clark and Smith excelled for the Seniors and Barber for the Juniors.
The summary follows: Score--1907, 16; 1908, 14. Goals from floor--Miles 3, Clark 2, Smith 1, Barber 3, Dwelley 1, Sessa 1. Goals from fouls --Miles 4, Sessa 4. Referee--H. R. Snyder 2L. Timekeepers--P. B. Francis '08, T. P. Sokoll 1L. Time--20-minute halves. Sophomores vs. Freshmen Tonight. The second game of the interclass series will be played between the Sophomores and the Freshmen in the Gymnasium this evening at 7 o'clock. As all the members of the 1909 team played on the Freshman team last year, they have had an opportunity to develop better team play than the Freshmen. There are some good individual players on the 1910 team, however, and the outlook for a successful season is encouraging. The line-up will be as follows: The final game of the series will be played in the Gymnasium Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock.
