NEW HAVEN, CONN., October 19.-R. L. Burch, Yale '09, has tendered his resignation as captain of the Yale University football team, owing to an injury received in last Thursday's practice that will probably prevent his playing again this season. His resignation, however, was unanimously refused, so he will continue as captain and will coach daily from the side-lines. Tonight E. H. Coy '10 was elected field captain.
Burch has been always first candidate for end, but last year, owing to a broken collar-bone, was able to play in the Harvard game for only a few minutes. Coy, as formerly, continues to play fullback.
