The University Hockey team defeated the University of Bishop's College of Quebec yesterday afternoon by the score of 4 to 0. The game, which was played at St. Paul's School, Concord, N. H., was rather slow, owing to the soft condition of the ice, which seemed to bother the Canadians. They had great difficulty in carrying the puck for long runs, and it was not until the end of the second half that they were at all dangerous.
The first goal was made towards the end of the first half; Rumsey carrying the puck down the ice by good dodging passed to Pell who scored on a hard shot from the side. The Harvard defence was especially strong during this period, usually stopping their opponents before they could shoot. Early in the second half, Ford carried the puck through the entire opposing team by very clever dodging and passed to Rumsey, who scored on a short shot from in front of the goal. A few minutes later, Pell and Rumsey worked an excellent piece of passing down the side-boards, from which Rumsey scored the third goal. Stevens and Hughes showed up well for the Canadians. Towards the end of the period, Pell took the puck from a scrimmage and carried it through the entire opposing team unaided, making a hard shot which was stopped by Robinson, but immediately poked into the net by Gardner.
The line-up: Score--Harvard, 4; Bishop's, 0. Goals--Rumsey 2, Pell, Gardner. Referee--M. K. Gordon. Umpire--F. Dolbeare. Timers--J. C. Dole, J. W. Wendell '08.
