A meeting of the Harvard Democratic Committee was held last evening in Matthews 5, at which plans were considered for the formation of a democratic club in the University. This committee was appointed last fall by the president of the Political Club, at the request of the Democratic National Committee. The original committee consisted of H. S. Blair '08, S. Bowles '08 and J. I. Boyce '10, while A. B. Church 2L., J. E. Dewey '09 and H. W. Litchfield 1G. have been added to the list recently. The committee will be further increased by the election of a member from the Faculty, and a member from the Freshman class.
A general organization including ten colleges has been formed, and a permanent secretary will soon be elected. R. S. Hoar '09 is now acting secretary. Democratic Clubs have already been formed at Columbia, Princeton, and the Universities of Louisiana, Kansas, Nebraska, Michigan and California. The clubs will take an active part in the presidential campaign.
