Second Team Defeated Tufts Second

The University second baseball team won its third game yesterday afternoon by defeating Tufts Second in a ten-inning game, 5 to 4. Although the Second team batted well, the hits were kept scattered except in two innings. The base running of the Second team was very crude. The best playing was done by Keefe who accepted seven hard chances without an error. Harding and Powers also did good work.

The Second team scored two runs in the first inning on an error, a two-bagger by Frye and a single by Paine. Another run was scored in the second on three singles. Tufts scored once in the third on a base on balls, a sacrifice, and a single, and another in the fourth on three singles. The Second team scored one in the third inning on a base on balls, a sacrifice, and two hits.

Tufts tied the score in the eighth inning on a base on balls, and two errors. The winning run was scored in the last of the tenth by Powers on a dead ball, a sacrifice, and an error.
