CORNELL RACE TOMORROW

On Lake Cayuga at 5 o'clock.--Stone's Crew to Meet Cascadilla.

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Tomorrow afternoon at 5 o'clock the University crew will race Cornell on Lake Cayuga. If there is too high a wind at that hour the race will be postponed until the wind subsides. The referee will be F. S. Bangs of Columbia, who officiated at the Harvard Cornell race here on the Charles river last year.

Just before the University contest the Stone's School crew of Boston will race the Cascadilla School eight of Ithaca.

At this time the Harvard crew is still rather unsettled, owing to the absence of Glass, who has been ill, but the race, coming as it does, almost exactly as month before the Yale contest, will be interesting. Faulkner and Fish are the only men who occupy the same seats as in the race with Columbia on the eleventh of this month, while in the rest of the crew there has been a number of changes.

Yesterday morning at 10.30 o'clock the eight, together with Coach Wray, Dr. Manahan, and Morgan and Wiggins as substitutes, arrived at Ithaca. They were met by Manager F. Miller of the Cornell crew, and J. P. Dods, number 2, with whom they proceeded direct to the New Ithaca Hotel. At 12 o'clock the whole squad went to the Cornell boathouse, where the shell had been placed. The men went out for a row of about a mile on Cayuga Inlet, accompanied by Coach Wray in one of the Cornell launches. The eight maintained a slow stroke throughout the practice, which was merely to limber up after the night on the sleeping car. They moved fairly well together and appeared to put more spirit into their work than during the last few days. About 5 o'clock yesterday afternoon coxswain Rlagden and Coach Wray went over the course in the launch "Cornell," but as it was still too cold and windy on the lake for rowing, when the crew went out again at 6.45 o'clock, the men were again confined to the Inlet. Although Coach Wray accompanied them in a launch, he was unable to keep very close to them. A faster stroke was held than in the morning, and all the men showed clean blade work. On the whole, the day's practice was encouraging after their last showing here. This afternoon both crews will hold their final practice before the race, and the Harvard eight will row over the course.

The orders tomorrow will be as follows:

Harvard--Stroke, Farley; 7, Richardson; 6, Bacon; 5, Severance; 4, Lunt; 3, Faulkner; 2, Fish; bow, Tappan; cox., Blagden.

Cornell--Stroke, Cox; 7, Stowell; 6, Goodier; 5, Gavett; 4, Gracy; 3, Proletto; 2, Dods; bow, Newman; cox., Taylor, capt.
