With the exception of the battery candidates, the entire University baseball squad practiced outdoors on the Freshman diamond yesterday afternoon. The ground was too soggy for fast work and nothing but simple fielding was attempted. Frequent changes were made in the line-up to give as many men as possible a chance to accustom themselves to the outdoor work. The usual batting practice was held in the Cage before going outdoors.
At the beginning of the practice the men lined up as follows: Harding, c.; Briggs, 1b.; McCall, 2b.; Simons, s.s.; Leonard, 3b.; Pounds, r.f.; Dana, c.f.; Ware, l.f.
