At the first trial to choose the Freshman team for the debate with the Yale freshmen on April 26, which was held in Dane Hall last night, the following men were retained: C. D. Britten, B. M. Cutting, M. L. Friedman, T. M. Gregory, G. L. Harding, R. R. Hess, A. Horvitz, W. R. Ohler, C. H. Raymond, A. N. Shol, H. C. Simon, S. Spring.
A. H. Elder '07, G. J. Hirsch '07, and B. M. Nussbaum '08 acted as judges.
At the second trial, which will be held next Friday, each of the men retained will deliver a 10-minute speech on either side of the question for debate--"Resolved, That if constitutional, United States shipping engaged in South American trade should be subsidized." Six men will be chosen for the final trial.
