The first public performance of "The Lotos-Eaters," the Hasty Pudding Club play, will be given in the Club theatre this evening at 8 o'clock. The other public performances will be given in the Club theatre tomorrow evening and at Jordan Hall, Boston, on Friday and Saturday.
Last night the performance was an improvement on the Graduates' night performance. The whole action progressed more smoothly and every character was brought out with increased brilliancy, showing greater confidence and understanding of the parts. The audience was more appreciative last night, many points being taken which before passed unnoticed. There are still a few small places where the action is inclined to drag, and it has been decided to eliminate them in the performances to follow. The theatre was over-crowded before the performance began and some were unable to gain entrance after the play started.
Tickets for the coming performances are nearly all sold, and it is advisable for all who intend seeing the play to obtain their tickets as soon as possible.
