Only a few men reported for the first regular lacrosse practice yesterday afternoon because of the cold weather. In the absence of Captain E. J. Wendell '07, Coach F. W. Wead '04 took charge of the Senior and Junior candidates, and H. E. Porter '09 of the Sophomores and Freshmen. The following men reported: A. C. Comey '07, C. E. Marsters '07, W. G. Thomas '07, E. S. Barber '08, L. D. Cox '08, L. Rome '08, D. L. Cobb '09, H. R. Eisner '09, H. E. Porter '09, A. W. Sampson '09, S. S. Sheip '09, and S. Smith '09. So few candidates for the Freshman team reported that no attempt was made to form a regular squad.
The practice for the University squad consisted mainly of a few minutes' work in passing and catching on the hand-ball courts in the rear of the Gymnasium, after which a number of the more experienced men went on with the stickwork in the Cage in the Gymnasium basement.
