HOCKEY TEAM PLAYS YALE

Close Game Expected in New York This Evening.

In its final game of the season the University hockey team will play Yale at the St. Nicholas Rink, New York, this evening at 8.15 o'clock. Yale has defeated Columbia and has lost to Dartmouth and Princeton. Princeton's victory over Yale in New York last Saturday gave the former the intercollegiate championship for the first time since the formation of the league.

The development of the Yale team has been somewhat slow. Considerable difficulty has been encountered in making up the team because of faculty regulations. In its first intercollegiate game, the team was outplayed by Dartmouth. Later it was barely able to win from Columbia. In the game with Princeton the score was 2 to 1, but the game was not as closely contested as the score would indicate. Nevertheless, the Yale team showed a distinct improvement over its former playing.

The development of the University team this season was also slow. It was not until the first of this month that the men played well together and developed speed. By that time it had lost to Princeton and consequently any possibility of winning the championship. Since the game with McGill the team has been given very little practice, as the members were evidently being over-worked. The team will be handicapped tonight by the loss of Carpenter, and Willetts, who at most will not play the whole game. The chances are about even this evening and an exciting game is expected.

The line-up: HARVARD.  YALE. Pell, l.e.  r.e., Driscoll Townsend, l.c.  r.c., Stanley Rumsey, r.c.  l.c., Williams Newhall, r.e.  l.e., Dilworth Foster, c.p.  c.p., Knox Willetts, p.  p., Biglow Washburn, g.  g., Lang
