Denied Winter Campus Housing, International Students Scramble to Find Alternative Options
During the winter months many are prevented from taking regular outdoor exercise by the distance and uncertainty of ice available for skating. Would it not be possible to flood a part of the tennis courts or the field between Langdell and Pierce Halls? With proper care the ice would be in much better condition than on most ponds in the vicinity of Boston. Its convenience to most dormitories would commend it to many who have neither the time nor inclination to play hockey; and if the Stadium rinks are used for most scrub games, Holmes Field could generally be reserved for pleasure skating. A small charge corresponding to that made for the use of the tennis courts would probably be sufficient to meet all expenses.
