No Ice for Hockey Practice Yet

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The second practice for the University hockey squad was held yesterday afternoon in the handball courts behind the Gymnasium. Nothing but preliminary work will be attempted until the squad gets on the ice. The ice on the ponds is still very thin, and there will probably be no practice on skates for several days at least.

Work on the rink in the Stadium has been begun and as soon as the weather is cold enough it will be flooded. The dimensions of the rink are 180 feet by 80 feet, surrounded by a wooden wall four feet high and a low bank of loam to keep the water from leaking out.

When the squad gets on the ice, short scrimmages will be held and a better line can be obtained on the men. The class hockey captains will be elected tomorrow night in the Assembly Room of the Union at 7.30 o'clock.

The following candidates reported yesterday for the first time: J. W. Brown '08, C. A. Binger '10, S. T. Hicks '10, W. Lippmann '10, J. A. Paine '09.
