New Haven, Conn., Oct. 8, 1907.--The Yale University football squad was given a very light practice yesterday afternoon. After a few minutes of light preliminary work, the squad was divided up into several teams each of which was given a hard signal practice. Later there was a fifteen-minute scrimmage between the first and second teams in which neither side was able to score. A great many forward passes and onside kicks were tried during the scrimmage with rather poor results. Toward the end, the first eleven resorted to old style play and were gaining very steadily when the scrimmage was stopped.
