Lively Freshman Scrimmage

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The Freshman football squad had a lively scrimmage yesterday, which lasted about half an hour. The ball was given to the second team in the centre of the field, but, after gaining first down once, they lost it to the first on a forward pass. The first team immediately worked a series of bucks and passes which carried the ball from the 40-yard line across the goal line, Pope, of the first team, scoring the touchdown on a delayed pass from the 12-yard line. The best plays in this scrimmage were worked from a kick formation, on which Cutler passed the ball to the halfbacks, who ran forward as the play started. Pope made two long gains from this formation; and Sweetser made one of about 15 yards.
