The closed novice fencing tournament, held in the fencing room of the Gymnasium last night, was won by G. L. Cutting '09. H. M. Tillinghast '07 was second, and C. M. Price '09 third. There were nine entries in all and the preliminary round was divided into two sections. G. L. Cutting '09 and B. M. Nussbaum '08 won the first section, and C. M. Price '09 and H. M. Tillinghast '07 won the second. All four then fenced a round-robin. Cups were given by the Fencers' Club to the winners of the first three places.

The judges were: C. A. Bliss '08, P. H. Faulkner 3L., H. W. Holmes '03, W. MacLeod 3L. and J. Weare '07.
