Spring Football Discontinued

The spring football practice for this season ended last week. Since April 30 daily practice has been held under the direction of Coach Reid and Captain Foster, in handling and kicking the ball, running down the field under punts, and in blocking and breaking through the line. After a 20-minute drill in such elementary work, a short time was devoted each day in trying out the new rules. The squad was instructed in forward passes, on sides kicks and in signalling for a fair catch.

It was proposed to hold scrimmages later in the season, but the plan was abandoned owing to lack of time. At first about 30 men reported, but when, at the last practice, not enough men were present to form one team, Coach Reid decided to discontinue the work until next fall.
