In the final 400-meter (437 yards) race at the Olympic Games, at Athens, yesterday, Paul Pilgrim, N. Y. A. C., won first place in 53 1-5 seconds. Lieutenant W. Haswell, England, was second, and N. Barker, Australia, third.

In the final of the 1500-meter (1640 yards), J. D. Lightbody secured first place, with McGough, England, second, and Hellstrom, Sweden, third. The time was 4 minutes, 12 seconds.

In the 110-metre (120 yards) hurdle race the preliminary heats were all won by American contestants.

England won the triple jump. T. E. Cronan of the American team took third place.

The open international rifle contest at 300 meters (328 yards) was won by Switzerland, with Norway, France and Greece, respectively, second, third and fourth. The individual championship of the world was won by Skattebo, Norway.
