HANDICAP GAMES YESTERDAY

The results of the annual handicap track games which were held yesterday afternoon in the Stadium were encouraging, and many of the new men did promising work. The track was in excellent condition, and in spite of a cold wind from the south, which hindered the runners to some extent, good time was made in several of the track events.

Although the performances in most of the field events were better than last year's, very little encouraging work was done. B. T. Stephenson 08 put the shot 43 feet 5 inches, a gain of 5 feet over last year's distance. There is a lack of good material, however, in all the other events.

The best time in the track events was made in the mile and two mile runs. In the last lap of the two mile run, Crosby with a handicap of ten yards took the lead from Groves, and finished first in 10 minutes 8 seconds. H. F. Miller, Jr., '08 with a handicap of ten yards won the mile run in the fast time of 4 minutes 31 seconds.
