Corporation Gives Fire Engine to City

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The President and Fellows of the University have voted to present a combination chemical fire engine and hose cart, and a pair of horses, to the city of Cambridge, and to invite Mayor Thurston to co-operate with them in the selection of the gift. The city government has taken no action in regard to the offer; but it is expected that the gift will be accepted.

If so, the new apparatus will be the second to be presented by the University to the city. Chemical Engine 1, which is situated in Central Square, was the first gift.
